ringer指的都是「替身」，但是替身如果是來敗事叫做「冒牌」；請來成事的叫「槍手」，不是嗎？這就是這個句子裡的意思。上面的定義有"a professional musician hired to strengthen a school orchestra"，不就已經清楚的說明這一點了嗎？

a couple of我再取上述 Random House 辭典的定義：more than two, but not many of; a small number of; a few。所以a couple of ringer musicians，譯為「好幾個『槍手』樂師」。
