國中英文課

家中小孩即將小學畢業升上國中，近幾個星期，每到週末我就參加補習班的試聽、說明會之類的活動。國中教些什麼，怎麼教，我希望幫我兒子把關。許多家長有很大的焦慮，到處詢問哪所國中好，哪位校長認真，哪個老師優秀。大部分人對國中教育只有一個反應 ── 恐慌。

令人期待的質數

Mark Haddon 在他的小說 The Curious Incident of the Dog in the Night-time 這樣寫著：
Chapters in books are usually given the cardinal numbers 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6 and so on. But I have decided to give my chapters prime numbers 2, 3, 5, 7, 11, 13 and so on because I like prime numbers.

CALD3 新書入手

四月份才剛在英國上市的 Cambridge Advanced Learner’s Dictionary, third edition，我搶了頭香從 Amazon UK 下單訂購。五月一日收到這本熱騰騰的新版，迫不及待安裝好了光碟，也看完了印刷本的 front matter。光碟看似有些改進，不過完整的使用心得還有待仔細評估。這裡先給一張光碟操作介面的影像，讓大家先睹為快。
此刻我正積極體驗這個新版的各項細節，過幾天再與大家分享使用心得。
